Since 1995 I am painting wildlife, animalportraits, landscapes and murals. With my work I hope to enhance the relationship that people have with nature and thus broaden and strengthen the public support for natureconservation and sustainable use of natural resources.

 

In my paintings I aim to depict the animal in its true form by paying attention to texture, volume and spatiality. Most important to me however, is the expression of the soul of the animal. In my landscapes I also strive for a sense of space and tangibility, but here the expression of the "spirit of  place" is the main objective. I like people to connect to the painting, to a level that they can imagine themselves to partake in the scene, or that they can identify with the qualities of the subject.

 

Besides requests for buying ready made art, I also welcome commissions for public, residential, or company spaces. On special request I also paint informationpanels, cut-outs and backdrops for educational purposes. In the latter case I sometimes expand my regular subject matter to other fields in need of more public awareness.
